FOREST CITY ñ Milton O. Hanson, 93, of Forest City died Saturday (January 13, 2007) at Mercy Medical Center ñ North Iowa in Mason City.



Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Miller with Pastor Rose Visser officiating. Burial will be in Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City.



Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 P.M., Tuesday at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home in Forest City and one hour prior to services at the church.



Milton Orville Hanson, the son of Lewis and Hannah (Hanson) Hanson, was born September 23, 1913 at Nels Spur near Leland. He attended school at Miller until the eighth grade and then helped his family on the farm. On June 19, 1943 he married Halen Grogan at South Dakota. They farmed east of Miller until retiring in 1972. They continued to live on the farm until moving into Forest City in 1991. Milton and Helen enjoyed traveling and spending their winters in Texas.



He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Miller.



Milton is survived by his wife, Helen, of Forest City; a daughter, Gaylene Bosma of Forest City; four grandchildren, Tara (Edgar) Baxton of Ft. Dodge, Cheryl (Steve) Tripp of Altoona, Shelley Armstrong of Ellsworth and William Armstrong of Altoona; six great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Wilson of Garner, Lula Schroeder of Britt and Vivian (Duane) Rasmussen of Clear Lake; a brother, Earl (Holly) Hanson of San Clemente, CA; and many nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Rita; a son, George; an infant sister; two sisters, Mary and Pearl; and three brothers, Ernest, Raymond and Duane.
