GARNER - Miranda L. Brouwer, 27, of Garner died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa in Mason City from complications of pneumonia and a stroke.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Wednesday, June 5th at the Garner Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Haddon Anderson officiating. Graveside services will be held 4 P.M., Wednesday at Hillside Cemetery in Edgerton, MN.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Tuesday at the Garner Evangelical Free Church and also one hour before the service.
Memorials may be directed to Opportunity Village in Clear Lake. Cataldo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Miranda took the angel's hand up the stairway to heaven where Jesus and all those whom have gone before welcomed her. Her life was made new.
Miranda Lynn Brouwer, the daughter of Gregory and Gladys (Vahl) Brouwer, was born February 11, 1986 in York, NE. She attended elementary schools in Comfrey and Winnebago, MN and junior and senior high school in Albert Lea, MN, graduating in 2005. The following year she moved with her family to Garner. After moving to Garner, she worked at Garner Work Center and Opportunity Village in Clear Lake, enjoying her work and the many friends she had there. Miranda had a loving heart for people as well as animals. She enjoyed volunteering and working with children at the Garner Evangelical Free Church. She loved taking care of her dogs, Dancer and Ranger.
Miranda is survived by her parents, Gregory and Gladys Brouwer of Garner; her brother, Ethan, of Garner; paternal grandparents, Edwin and Trudy Brouwer of Sanborn, IA; maternal grandmother, Arlene Vahl of Edgerton, MN; aunts and uncles, Cindy (Dave) Massie, Scott (Janet) Brouwer, Duane (Cheri) Vahl, Lowell (Debbie) Vahl, Gloria Vande Brake, Rozella Vahl and Faye (Curtis) Schuur; and her cousins, Amanda Bullmann (Kyle Doody), Jenny Brouwer, Sarah Brouwer, Megan (Brent) Gray, Adam (Jill) Vahl, Dawn Vahl, Renee (Sean) Mittermeier, Jamie (Bryan) Anderson, Katie Vande Brake (Toby Lloyd), Mindy Vande Brake, Jon Vahl, Eric Vahl, Stacy (Jack) Vander Pol, Ryan (Melissa) Schuur, and Suzie Schuur (Mike Swan).
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Harold Vahl; uncles, Alvin Vande Brake and Virgil Vahl; and her great grandparents.
