Monte Ray McClintock, the son of Percy and Florence (Adams) McClintock was born December 26, 1935, in Sac City, Iowa. He attended kindergarten in Santa Monica, CA and later moved with his family back to Sac City where he graduated from high school. After graduation, he returned to Santa Monica where he was employed at Douglas Aircraft in the master patterns department working on DC-8 jets. From there he was drafted into the U.S. Army serving two years in Germany protecting the East German border. He met some great army friends there and continued a lifelong friendship with this group of friends. Monte met and married Joyce Carnes at the United Methodist Church in Early, Iowa on January 1, 1965. They raised their family in Sac City where Monte worked for Noble Manufacturing for twenty years in the Tool and Die Department. In 1978, the family moved to Garner. Monte continued his career as a tool and die maker for the next twenty years at Winnebago Industries in Forest City. His hobbies included bowling, traveling, and, of course, his love of fishing.
Monte was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Garner. He loved to sing and was a member of the church choir both in Sac City and Garner. He was active in many organizations including seventeen years in the Sac City Fire Department, thirty-three years as a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and was a member of the Garner Lions Club.
Monte is survived by this loving wife, Joyce of Garner; three children, Lori Goodwill of Kasson, MN, Bill (Carol) McClintock of Owatonna, MN and Molly (Dave) Wempen of Waukee, IA; grandchildren, Jennifer, Brian, Kyrstin, Lindsay, Grace, Katie and Sophie; great grandchildren Isabelle, Aaron, Olivia, Jasmine and Madison; a sister, Claudia Hauser of Lake View, IA; and a brother, Greg McClintock of Tucson, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Florence McClintock of Sac City; and son-in-law, Terry Goodwill of Kasson, MN.
He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His positive, upbeat attitude, and love of life will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
