Patricia “Patty” Wittenberg was born June 8, 1946, in Forest City to Melvina and Gideon (Bierbaum) Wittenberg. She was a curious, happy child who loved playing the piano and helping her mother in her garden. She attended school until the 11th grade in Mason City and then lived for some time with her sister, MaryAnn and family on the farm in Garner. She was then cared for by Duncan Heights Care Facility, for 30 years. After its closure she was blessed by the care of Concord Care Center and their staff until her death. Patty always had a smile and a laugh that would light up a room. She was always happy to see you and grateful for any time or gift you gave her. During her younger years she loved to ride her 3-wheel bike around the property or win at Bingo. She was first in line to go to town on shopping or movie excursions. The care she received included beautiful hair styles and fancy nails, which she was always excited to show off. A favorite was her birthday picnic where her family would gather each year to celebrate her with her favorites, ice cream and pop! She was a beauty inside and out and will be greatly missed by her family and the residents and staff of Concord Care Center.
Patty is survived by her sister, MaryAnn Wacker of Garner; her brother, David Wittenberg (Kris) of Rochester, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Gideon Wittenberg.
