Roger E. Franklin, 77, of Forest City, died Monday, January 27, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City, Iowa.
Upon his wishes he was cremated and Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday February 29, 2020 at Faith Lutheran Church in Miller with Lay Minister Rose Visser officiating.
Memorials may be directed in care of his family.
Roger E. Franklin was born on March 27, 1942 in rural Hancock County, Iowa the son of Charles R. and Ovedeia (Palmer) Franklin.
Roger was married to the love of his life Janette Moretz on June 14, 1963 to this union, three children were born, Robin, Jeffrey and Rachael.
Roger was a carpenter in his younger years, worked for Winnebago Industries for many years, but was most well known for his produce he raised in his garden. He sold his produce at local Farmer Markets for many years.
Roger is survived by his wife Jan of Forest City; three children, Robin Franklin of Abilene, KS, Jeffrey (Holly) Franklin of Kellogg, IA, and Rachael (Rome) Gould of Hanlontown, IA; grandchildren, Shannon (Steve) Ottman, Nicole (Ben) Reickman, Amanda Gangsei, Lindsi Bredeson, Brandy McRoberts, Alexa Franklin, Casey Franklin, Haley Franklin, Logan Franklin, Devan Franklin, Kaitlyn Franklin, Nicholos (Britney) Karaluis, and Alexander John Aguirre; step-granddaughters Caitlyn and Abigail; eighteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Karen (Don) Cassells; one niece and three nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Maynard and Dorothy Moretz; son-in-law, Bradd Gangsei; a sister and her husband, Kathy & Ed Shepard; and brother-in-law Jimmy Moretz.
