Roy Martin Kruger, the son of Andrew and Jennie (Miller) Kruger, was born September 30, 1927 on a farm near Ackley. He married Leila (Shane) Kruger on October 8, 1950 in Bethany, MO. Roy served his country during the Korean conflict in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 spending 18 months in the Special Police in Giesen, Germany. Roy moved his family to Torrance, CA in 1961 and worked for Reynolds Aluminum until moving back to Iowa to raise baby pigs in 1970. He raised feeder pigs on an acreage near Miller while working at Winnebago as a truck driver, and fork lift driver until he retired in 1992. Roy greatly enjoyed his family and his favorite past time was reading his Bible, reading books of Prophesy and listening to the Gather's music. He accepted the Lord as a child and loved his Savior, Jesus Christ. A huge highlight of his life was following his Savior in baptism in the Jordan river in Israel in November of 1998.
