Sarah E. Schuchhardt, 66, of rural Garner passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024, at her home after battling ALS for the last two years.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., Garner followed by a Celebration of Life service at 4 p.m. with Pastor Mark Lund officiating.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Sarah Eileen Schuchhardt, the daughter of Emmett and Betty (Nicholson) Meyer, was born on January 14, 1958, in Charles City. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1976 and continued her education at NIACC in Mason City. On June 4, 1977, she married Larry Schuchhardt in New Hampton. Larry’s daughter, Tammy, was welcomed into the family followed by Heather and Adam. They lived in Charles City, Colwell, Floyd and in 1996 moved to Crystal Lake. In 2007, they moved to Hayfield. Sarah was employed at the Charles City Press, Casey’s Pizza in Charles City, Band Box Cleaners and Winnebago Industries for twelve years. She enjoyed baking cookies, camping and taking care of her grandkids. Sarah also loved hummingbirds, butterflies, wolves, tribal décor, doing crafts, making Jams and playing card games. She even played with her daughter and grandkids a few weeks before she passed away.

She was a support volunteer for Girl Scouts of America for several years.

Sarah is survived by her husband, Larry, of Garner; three children, Tammy (Alan) Pickar of Belle Plaine, MN, Heather (Mark) Dietrich of Mason City and Adam Schuchhardt of Garner; grandchildren, Kyeanna, Branden, Zander, Evan, Zane, Jasmine, Berkley and Harper; great-grandchildren, Kesleeigh and Beckham, Emilyn, Elizabeth and Eason and Everly; and a brother, David Meyer of Charles City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Betty Meyer; nephews, David, Jr.; and grandson, Bentley.
