Sharon J. Gilbertson

Sharon J. Gilbertson, 76, of Forest City, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City, with Pastor Rod Hopp officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.

Burial will be held in Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Good Samaritan Center in Forest City in care of the family.

Sharon J. Gilbertson was born June 24, 1940 in Emmons, Minnesota, the daughter of Richard and Edith (Loe) Madsen. She attended and graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1958.

She was married to Arthur Gilbertson on December 29, 1963 at the Red Grove Lutheran Church in Austin, Minnesota.

Sharon worked for Winnebago Industries, the Ford Garage in Forest City and then went to work for the Treasurer’s office in the Winnebago Courthouse, where she retired from in 2005.

Sharon loved to roller skate in her younger years, she was an avid reader and was a member of many book clubs through the years. She an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years. Sharon enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sharon is survived by her brother, Gary (GeorgAnna) Madsen; sister, Arlette (Gary) Jensen; nephews, Allan and Jared; nieces, Laura and Rachel and other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Art in 2010.
