Sharon K. Eames, 72 of Forest City died Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City, Iowa from dementia.
Private family graveside services will be held in Oakland Cemetery, Forest City, Iowa.
Services will be aired on our Facebook page at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday March 24, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa or Forest City Good Samaritan Center.
Sharon was born on June 13, 1947 in eastern Iowa. She was the daughter of George Hillson and Dorothy (Tripp Hillson) Peterman.
Sharon graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1965. She earned her Registered Nursing degree from Allen Memorial Hospital school of nursing in 1968. She married Robert Eames on August 3, 1968 in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Sharon loved God and chose to serve Him at a young age and was faithful to her choice. She was kind and soft spoken and taught her children by example. She was a nurse with a very caring and loving heart in the Forest City area working at the old Forest City Hospital, new Hospital in surgery, and then home health care before she retired. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, and baking. In her early years, she made several wedding cakes. Sharon loved horses and enjoyed riding her quarter horses and driving their pony teams. In her retirement years, they enjoyed camping in the fall with their camping friends.
She is survived by her husband, Robert of 51 years; daughters, Carmen (Thad) Schaben of Urbandale, IA, Jenny (Lonny) Vlieger of Edgerton, KS; son, Wade (Casandra) Eames of Ames, IA; one granddaughter, Emma Schaben; step granddaughter, Nicole (Tad) Belling; sister, Linda Blau of Belmond, IA; sister-in-law, Lois (Ken) Sanders of Iola, KS, 2 nieces, Angela (Chad) Armour, Elaine (Landon) Kleeb and 2 nephews, Clark (Mylinda) Blau, Darin (Lindsey) Turner.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brother-in-laws. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
