Sondra K. Peterson

Sondra K. Peterson, 76, of Forest City passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society in Forest City.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Education Center, 325 West 8th St. Garner, Iowa. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date.

Sondra Kay Peterson, the daughter of Roland and Clara Peterson, was born October 2, 1942 in Goodell. She attended country school near Meservey and graduated from North Central Manly High School. She worked in the dietary department at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa in Mason City until her retirement. After retiring, she moved from Mason City to Forest City. In July of 2014, she became a resident of Good Samaritan Society. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzle books and watching TV.

Sondra is survived by her siblings, Karna Mae Janssen of Belmond, Melvin Peterson of Forest City, Dennis Peterson of Forest City, Duane Peterson of Forest City, Laura Peterson of Forest City and Leon Peterson of Forest City; two sisters-in-law, Jill Peterson of Marseille, IL and Lynn Peterson of Missouri; a brother-in-law, Gene Stenersen of Lake Mills; and many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, Shirley Stenersen, Roland C. Peterson, Lauren Peterson, Merlin Peterson and Delwyn Peterson; two nieces; and a nephew.
