Wilbur C. Pihl

Wilbur C. Pihl, 82, of Woden, passed away on Thursday, June 1st, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 am, Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Woden followed by a graveside service at Bingham Township Cemetery officiated by Pastor John Heille. The family invites everyone to a luncheon at the Woden Community Center after the graveside service.

Wilbur was born on October 5th, 1940 in Tracy, Minnesota to Walter and Dora (Phillips) Pihl. After graduating from Woden High School in 1958, Wilbur moved to Mason City where he began his career as a painter. In 1968, he returned to Woden and continued painting until his retirement. Wilbur enjoyed hunting and playing pool with friends and family in his younger years. He was also proud of his service in the National Guard as it allowed him to give back to his country while also gaining experience and skills that would carry with him throughout his life.

Wilbur is survived by his sister, Ruby Johnson of Las Vegas, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Violet Price; and two brothers-in-law, Harold Johnson and Leo Price.
