William A. Schrader
BRITT - Bill Schrader, 87, of Britt died Thursday (January 20, 2011) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt with Rev. Dale Glawatz officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M., Sunday at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt and will continue one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
William August Schrader, the son of Miner and Emma (Prull) Schrader, was born February 14, 1923 at Britt. He graduated from Britt High School in 1942. After high school he farmed northeast of Britt until 1966. Bill drove school bus for a number of years and worked for the City of Britt until his retirement in 1987. He enjoyed woodworking, restoring furniture, antique cars, and traveling to Arizona to visit family.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garner.
Bill is survived by his two daughters, Gretchen McDaniel of Des Moines and Allison Gilbert of Crystal Lake, IL; three granddaughters, Crystal Erdman, Breanna Erdman and Sierra Gilbert-Erdman; a sister, Alice (Bob) Bruns of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Miner Schrader.
